The Circeo Park Resources

As consequence of the Circeo Park opening, part of the wild local forest was not cut, and together with the Lake of Sabaudia, the coastal dunes, and the Circeo Promontory it formed the first protected area of the Park.Later on the park protected area was increased gradually to include other 3 coastal lakes and the park protection was enhanced step by step with the establishment of integral natural reservesgaining international recognition and environmental awards. of them suitable for bicycles, help visitors to explore the park natural environments. There is also the park museum, which gives a good and clear overview of the park’s functions and interesting wildlife. The best seasons for visiting the park are spring and autumn when the weather is still mild and the landscapes offer beautiful natural sceneries of misty marshlands, dense forest and dunes on the blue South Tyrrhenian sea.
